It sometimes happens that we stop in the midst of everything and think about how privileged we are. To live here, in a small village in the forest, together with our sixteen dogs. To wake up to the silence, see the fog lie over the trees, hear the dogs stretch and know that this is our everyday life.
Not everyone gets to live like this. And perhaps that is why our guests appreciate it so much.
Yesterday we had a fantastic family here for Husky-Hiking. They came from another country, from a completely different kind of daily life — and yet it was as if they recognized themselves immediately. In the peace. In nature. In the rhythm of the dogs. In the view that opens up when you reach the heights.
That's exactly where it all started for us too. When we realized that what we have here is not obvious. That the forest, the silence, the dogs, the view and the freedom are something you almost have to share. It was that feeling that made us start Måsek's. Not to create something big, but to let others experience what we ourselves love.
And when the family left yesterday and left a 5-star review on Google, it felt like a confirmation of just that. That they had felt what we wanted to convey. That they had experienced what we ourselves see every day. That what we do actually means something.
We are so grateful for every guest who comes here. For every encounter. For every moment in the forest where the dogs work forward and nature shows its quiet strength.
This life is a gift. And to be able to share it with others is the biggest part of that gift.
