There's a special kind of energy that only a husky has.
That mix of joy, focus, and pure zest for life that makes their whole body vibrate before we've even put on the harness. It's hard to describe to someone who hasn't experienced it themselves – but when you're standing there, surrounded by 16 dogs all eager to work, something happens within you too.
It's contagious.
Huskies are made to work
It's in their nature. They are built to pull, cooperate, and move forward at a steady, rhythmic pace. When they get to do what they were created for, you can see the whole dog "settle." Their gaze becomes clearer, their body calmer, and their energy is directed towards one goal: forward.
That's why our huskies are always happy when we go out on a trip – whether it's Husky-Hiking, dog scootering, or winter mushing. For them, work isn't stress. It's balance.
The energy is contagious to humans
It's something I see every day.
The first time a guest takes hold of the line and feels the dog's power in its stride, something happens. At first, it's all about getting started, but then when we're in the forest and the dogs' eagerness turns into a calm working pace, the guests' shoulders drop. Their breathing becomes calmer. The pace becomes natural. It's as if the dog pulls away all the noise that we humans carry.
Many say the same thing afterward:
“I didn't know I needed this.”
And I understand them. Because when you walk behind a husky working in its proper element, you yourself become more present. More in your body. More in nature, More at one with your husky.
The work creates security and joy in the dogs
Our dogs are at their best when they get to:
-
use their energy
-
cooperate
-
feel that they are doing something together with us
-
be out in the forest
-
work in a pack
That's why we always balance speed and calm. We let them work, but we also let them rest, cuddle, eat, sleep, and just be dogs.
It's the overall picture that makes them feel secure.
And that's why our guests keep coming back
Because it's not just an activity. It's a feeling.
A feeling of being part of something bigger – nature, the dogs, the rhythm, the calm. It's hard to find anywhere else.
Do you want to experience it yourself?
We offer Husky-Hiking here in Dalarna throughout spring, summer, and autumn. The dogs are ready, the forest is quiet, and the view from the top is beautiful every time.
