Eldhuset finns där bakom alla stormfällda träd

The woodshed is back there behind all the storm-felled trees

At the end of last year, we had storm Johannes raging here in Dalarna. We were very lucky because no trees fell on any buildings, so we avoided material damage. The firehouse also survived, and the trees fell right next to it. The challenge is to saw down the fallen trees lying on the side without them rolling onto the firehouse. That work will start soon, so we hope we can manage that too.

After much effort and excitement, we managed to save the firehouse, and now there are just a few logs and sawn firewood blocks on the ground. The feeling of having been lucky and surviving the immense forces of nature is enormous, and the firehouse is ready to welcome new guests. There's nothing cozier than going in and smelling the bonfire, and in fact, the house itself has developed an indoor scent reminiscent of a charcoal kiln. A very special scent that hardly exists nowadays but evokes old times when forestry looked completely different and the purpose of felling trees was entirely different.
