Do you still have some wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag) left from your employer? Then it might be time to use it for something out of the ordinary.
The Swedish Tax Agency writes:
"For a wellness allowance to be paid out tax-free, it must be used for activities that include elements of exercise, or other simpler forms of wellness that do not include elements of exercise but are, for example, stress-relieving or relaxing."
Getting out into nature, moving your body, spending time with our dogs, and momentarily leaving the stress of everyday life behind is exactly the type of experience many are looking for today.
Perhaps you have several colleagues with wellness allowances that must be used before the year ends? If so, an activity with us is a perfect way to do something truly memorable together.
Large husky hiking group last Thursday

Last Thursday we had a large group by our standards. A total of 18 people participated in our Husky Hiking.
We had 12 dogs with us out in the forest, and to ensure everyone got to experience the feeling of walking with a husky, some participants switched halfway through the tour. It worked out better than expected and allowed more people to try what it feels like to cooperate with the dogs out on the trails.
After the tour, we received some very nice feedback from the participants. Several praised our hospitality, but one comment stuck with us a little extra:
"I didn't think it would feel like this. The husky turns its head and looks at me every now and then to see if I'm with them and that everything is okay. Absolutely incredible."
That is actually something that surprises many people. You often think the experience is about walking with a dog, but you quickly discover that it is about relationship, interaction, and communication. Our dogs keep an eye on their humans just as we keep an eye on them.
Are you a larger group that wants to use your wellness allowance together? Please feel free to get in touch and we will help you find a setup that suits your group perfectly.
Intensive fine-tuning ahead of the European Championships
Between our guest activities, the daily training with the competition dogs continues.
Right now, we are in an intensive period where a lot of focus is on fine-tuning the details ahead of the European Championships. It is not the big changes that make the difference now, but the small adjustments that slowly build fitness and confidence.
The most fun part is that we see small but clear progress during almost every training session. These are the kinds of signs that give us the energy to continue the work day after day.
Puppy-proofing the dog run
During the weekend, we also did a major cleanup in the dog run.
We have had several large bird cherry trees there for a long time, and in all these years, we have never seen any dog show much interest in the berries. But this year, Mys and the puppies seem to have come up with completely different ideas. They became almost obsessed with picking and eating the berries that lay on the ground.
On Saturday afternoon, we therefore decided to make a real effort. The bird cherry trees were sawed down and we raked up berries, branches, and everything else that remained on the ground.
When I read up on bird cherry berries, I saw that the berries themselves are not considered toxic, but the pits are not something you want dogs to ingest if they are crushed. And with puppies, you never really know how much ends up in their stomachs when they explore the world with both their noses and teeth.

Now the area feels significantly safer and more puppy-friendly, and we can relax a bit more when the little adventurers are out exploring their surroundings.
Do you have any wellness allowance left to use? Then you are warmly welcome to experience the forest, the tranquility, and our fantastic huskies together with us.
